Addiction Rehab
Rehabs (Rehabilitation Centers, Addiction Rehabilitation Centers) are include a range of intensive addiction treatment or recovery programs and centers: hospitals, detox centers, out-patient programs, and both short-term and long-term in-patient treatment and recovery centers. The nature of the disease prevents most addicts from seeking help until they have "hit bottom". Their life's are so out of control they can no longer deny they need and want to change. Unfortunately, addiction changes the brain making it very difficult to stop compulsively using the addictive substance or behavior. Intensive addiction programs are designed to help the addict safely re-gain control and begin their road to Recovery.
Rehabs play an important role in Recovery, but an addict does not go away for a few weeks and come back "fixed". Rehabs provide addicts and their support group with powerful tools they can use to manage the disease.
